2020.10.01 05:16 rmrbossq Sober again, for two days, I was so stupid that I smoked again after a terrific Psychoses. The. Worst. Experience. Ever. (With question about withdraw)

Hello leaves Community, first of all thank you very much for existing, you are one of two reasons why I wanted to quit this shit. The second one needs to tell a story, and I hope it can help someone with it. -Please excuse my weak English, it's not my mother language. -
I am from syria and I live in germany. I'm here since 2015, my family lives in syria, and I didn't meet them because of the situation there. But luckily last I had the opportunity last year to meet them, so I had to stop smoking. I was smoking daily, for 6 months, that was not my first time I tried weed before but it was like nothing comparing to how much did I smoke in those 6 Months.
I arrived to syria, it was amazing to meet my parents after 4 years, so I didn't really feel anything, i had some problems with sleeping, and that was it. Until the day I suddenly started to think a lot I couldn't stop thinking. I end up with the idea, that the regime in syria forced the parents to be aggressive and violent with their children, to destroy their spirit, so they are easy to be controlled.
I told my friend about this, he said that I am crazy. however I thought that he said that to be safe, because phone calls are controlled from the regime, and I started to write papers to my parents. Asking if they are sure that the house is bot bugged. They didn't understand what's going on. I was terrified, jumping from a room to another. Searching everything. And it didn't stopped here. I started to hear voices. Imaginary answers from my mother, which did help to confirm my theory about the syrian regime. -I knew later about it-
My father knew somehow, that I used weed, asked a doctor what should he do. He wrote me medical drug for psychoses. But here is the worst thing. I did believe that my parents want to give me drugs to forget what I discovers about the regime. To save me from it. And I didn't wanted to. I didn't take the medicine. They tried to put it in the food. I didn't eat or drink anything from my parents anymore.
There are so many details and I can remember every single thing, I just wanted to say during Psychoses that your brain will find a -logical- explanation for whatever it wants. And when there is no one, your brain will create one.
After the longest 3 days of my life. I took the medicine, which made me spiritually dead. I had no more emotions. I travelled again to germany, and have to face a major depression. And the fact that I am not more intelligent like before. I booked an appointment by a doctor, and the nearest time was in 4 months! Because this is germany.
I couldn't stand my depression, I failed, i smoked again, started with half gram every two weeks, reaching 1 complete gram a day and even more. The last two months I did nothing but smoking weed. But I don't want anymore! I rethought about what happend, and i was shocked that i let myself smoke again! I am not accomplishing anything, and I can touch the damage in my brain and my life, my memory is so bad, my ability to learn is 0.
But now, and for two days, I'm sober! It feels wonderful until now. yeah I can not sleep easily, but I started to read a book! And it feels good :)
I'm a little worried to have Psychoses again, so I will to get help with it.
So, you reached the end! :D thank you very much that you let me share my story with you :) Is there any advices that you can give me to avoid the withdrawal pain ? And i want to ask about the fat, i got fat during the last couple months, 15 kg.. If i started to burn thais fat, will it affect my withdrawal symptoms ?
Thank you very much from all my heart. Stay sober :) or become one! Please! :D

2020.09.30 16:37 Kzang151 I think I have meat intolerance

So I've been vegan for the past 2 months or so. It's going great. I have IBS and can poop like 6 times a day. So, after going vegan, my stomach pain has almost nearly gone away.
I have a 5 year old son so I make non vegan stuff for him with some vegan stuff. He loves my pad thai.
I digress, I've tried a bite of his taco or other meat item and every single time the next day I get the same stomach pain for hours and poop like a madman.
So apparently meat intolerance is an actual thing. I had some left over pork, beef, and chicken. I tried small amounts of all 3, and every single time it kills my stomach.
Since I've been vegan, it's completely changed my GI issues that I didn't know I could ever fix. It's simply amazing.

2020.09.30 04:29 allumeusend I am 39 years old (today!), working in retail data analyst and make $86K ($330K joint HHI) in Long Island, NY

I apologize in advance if this is too long! I clearly inherited the gab.
Section One: Debts and Assets
Retirement: $238K, with the majority in 401(k) and $16K in a Roth IRA. Joint total retirement savings with my husband’s accounts is $480K. We are a bit behind where we would like to be; my husband didn’t have access to retirement through work for nearly a decade but we were income limited out of a lot of options. Neither of us has a match thru our employer; his company doesn’t offer one and mine just cancelled ours as a result of the pandemic.
Home Equity: $344K. We bought our home five years ago.
Mortgage: $351K.
Savings Account Balances: $108K. This is sitting in a Marcus HYSA and is across all our accounts. We keep an emergency fund of $60K and the rest are all in dedicated sinking funds for vacations, Christmas presents, home updates etc.
Brokerage Account: $146K, mostly in ETFs.
Robinhood Account: $4.7K. I split this off since I use this basically as my savings for one big frivolous purchase a year. Right now, the plan is to use this for my next luxury handbag.
Checking: $3K currently. We keep minimal amounts in checking.
Credit card debt: None. We put nearly all expenses on our rewards cards for the points and pay off bi-monthly.
Student loans: None. We paid off all our student loans 8 years ago!
We recently received a $40K inheritance from the passing of my husband’s aunt—we invested $10K of it and donated $2K of it (so far) to charity. The remainder of it is sitting in our HYSA while we figure out what to do with the rest, particularly what charities to send more money to.
Section Two: Income
Income progression: I have been working on the corporate side of retail for 14 years. I originally started in allocation and planning before moving into a strategic planning role, doing client and pricing analysis. My starting salary was $42K in the Midwest. We relocated to NYC after he graduated, and I took an allocation job for an accessories brand here in NYC for $52K. I stayed at that job for three years—two years too long—where I unfortunately cycled through 8 bosses without ever changing jobs or roles. None of them lasted more than a few months before leaving. That made it impossible to get promoted; no one stuck around in charge of our team long enough to ever get to know anyone long enough to recommend a promotion.
It was incredibly demoralizing and staying there after boss #4, starting to see the pattern, is my single biggest career regret. It absolutely set my career back having been complacent, not knowing my worth, and not leaving for a promotion earlier. I was at my next job at a mega big brand for 6 years, starting at $57K and worked my way up through several positions before finally leaving to completely change focus into analytics 4 years ago. That job came with a 20% raise to my current salary. Unfortunately, my current company has been underwater the entire time I have been here and is in serious trouble in the midst of Covid, which means salary freezes, delayed or no bonus, and no chance of promotion. I spent four months on unpaid furlough during this time. I have never received a raise in the four years I have been here.
My paycheck: $2.6K after deductions and taxes. I max 401(K) and HSA, plus $460 a month for insurance. Deductions are far higher right now because of the four month furlough; I am still trying to get to the max for the year on far fewer paychecks, and I also have to pay back a portion of my health insurance from during the furlough. I also over withhold taxes to cover any interest income for the year from savings and investments.
My husband’s paycheck: $20K a month. He is a junior partner at a small law firm. As a partner, he is considered self employed and taxes are not withheld from his pay; we pay quarterly. We put this money aside each check to do so after he is paid.
Section Three: Expenses
Mortgage/Escrow: $3250. It is Long Island, so our monthly contribution to escrow for taxes is actually quite a bit higher than our mortgage, even with annual grieving.
Taxes: $6500, to cover my husband’s income taxes, self employment taxes and both sides of FICA.
Savings: $900 to sinking funds. We are heavy on cash right now so we are not contributing further and directing all spare cash to investments. We save for vacation, Christmas and home improvements each month.
Investments: $2000-$2500, depending on how spend-y we are in a month.
Cable: $198
Phone: $200 (for three lines and my Apple Watch)
Electric: $100-200 right now depending on AC
Water: $150-200
Gas: $10-25 (since it is not winter, the electric and gas flip)
Car payment: $379 (one car under lease, one paid off completely)
Insurance: $120
Gas: $25-50
Prescriptions: $50
Streaming (Netflix/Hulu/Disney +, uggh, Peacock): $55
Landscaper: $200 (we are both too lazy and too busy to mow our own lawn/garden and will freely admit it)
Hair color: $200-ish. I am adding this as its own line because I actually budget for it even if it seems frivolous . I went prematurely grey by the age of 25. My hair is completely white and I get my hair colored every three weeks because that is when it becomes extremely noticeable except during the pandemic, which grey ombré became the hot new look around our house. I did not get my hair colored during this week and it felt like cheating if I didn’t include this typically planned expense.
Charitable Giving: $800. We donate $50/month to the following: Stonewall Community Foundation, Christian Appalachia Project, our local food bank, Give Directly (which literally just gives people in need money with no strings), and Heifer International. We also donate $400 a month to a charitable trust we set up to build towards a large scale gift in the future, and donate throughout the month to causes as they come up. Annually, we give $2K to a theater company we are on the board of governors for, $1K to my husband’s former high school, and $500 to our college alma mater. We are trying to ramp up our giving even more each year.
Money Diary:
Tuesday (Spent = $80.55)
8am--drag self out of bed, make myself a coffee with pumpkin spice oat milk and pack up a bag of food for my husband J. He worked one week in the office and one week from home and has a mini fridge, so I always send him in with a bunch of snacks in addition to what he brings in for lunch so he can minimize the amount of time he is out inside of his own office and stay socially distant.
9am--log in to work and discover a software issue is keeping me from getting anything done. Spend next hour on the phone working to get it fixed while wanting to bang head against the table.
10am--back to back meetings. Turn off video during the meetings so that I can eat some left over stirfry and not look silly on camera.
2pm--finally off Zoom and take a minute to go the NYS DMV site and renew my drivers license. ($80.55; why such a weird number NY?)
3pm--buckle down for several hours of analysis. Endless spreadsheets.
6pm--take a break to take a walk around the neighborhood. Listen to Pod Save America and count squirrels--is 51 squirrels over a one mile walk too many squirrels for one neighborhood? Get home and make two nights worth of dinner since I already know tomorrow night will be insane. Double batch Chicken parm pasta with broccoli.
7pm--Eat my dinner as J finally gets home. Settle onto the coach and turn on Netflix to watch Parks and Rec while I work.
1am--Finally pencil down and lights out.
Wednesday (Spent = $0)
7am –wake up and lay in bed for a while. Submit my answers for the last day of Learned League and sign up for next season. I have a feeling I am getting booted out of the top Rundle based on my poor performance this season (I am currently on the bubble). Score a 5 of 6 and hope that my opponent knows nothing about country music.
7:30-get ready for the day and make myself some coffee. Make a note that I need more pumpkin spice oat milk. Sign into work and start re-pulling my analysis from yesterday with the updated client data.
9am—turn on MSNBC to watch the memorial services for RBG at the Supreme Court while working through the start of my client deck for tomorrow. I have a frustratingly large amount to do today, like almost all Wednesdays.
11:30 am—take a short break to Slack with my only other team member with some complaints about our boss and the recent changes in our roles and responsibilities (our entire team changed roles altogether as part of the reorganization of the company.)Considering how bleak the job market in retail (even on the corporate side) is right now, we are both nervous to complain to anyone about how poorly this change is going for our team.
12pm—take a walk around my usual loop in the neighborhood and make a bologna sandwich. Get changed out of my pajamas (yes, I walked around the neighborhood in them, don’t judge) and put on make-up for my Zoom calls this afternoon. Throw on my headphones and plow through as much work as possible before meeting with my manager.
2pm—meeting with my manager to review the breakouts for tomorrow’s meeting. Always a frustrating experience because she interrupts me constantly to berate me for not doing something or analyzing something that was literally in the middle of explaining to her.
3pm—Take a half hour break to clear my head after my meeting before resuming work on my presentation deck for tomorrow.
6pm—take my evening walk while listening to some football podcasts (reviving my anger at NBC for moving EPL to Peacock Premium!), take a long hot bath with Epsom salt, foam roll my bad shoulder, and come back and eat leftover chicken parm for dinner with a small salad.
8pm—resume working on presentation for tomorrow while watching Parks and Rec in the background. Considering the possibility of a block of pure sugar like NutriYums would be really useful. Throw some laundry into the machine as I go and sip on a Montauk Pumpkin Ale.
10pm—J. arrives home from work and fills me in on his day. He will be at work late again tomorrow but we make plans to go out as soon as he is home to kick off my birthday weekend. He heads to bed after our short chat.
12am—wrap up work for the night and head finally head to bed. It will only be a brief reprieve.
Thursday (Spent = $0)
5am—get up and get right back to work, copious amounts of coffee in hand—this insane crunch is every Wednesday and Thursday for me. Put on make-up, get dressed and presentable for Zoom about 20 minutes before the call starts.
8:55am—Presentation is cancelled five minutes before it is supposed to start. Grumble... Decide to go for a morning walk since I have already been up and working for hours. Tune into NPR and scroll the Athletic and the NY Times as I walk.
9:30am—email our senior staff on whether they prefer to receive my presentation deck in lieu of the meeting or if I schedule something off cadence. I don’t really expect to hear anything—the same meeting was cut off last week before I presented and they didn’t respond. Really makes me feel valued (that is sarcasm.) Re-organize my schedule for next week and set up process calls with my cross-functional partners..
11am—all company all hands meeting, filling us in on the status of the company’s reorganization. I am just trying to hang on for retail to get better and make it to the period when all my deferred compensation (and retention bonus for staying through the reorg) can be paid out to me at this point.
12pm—weekly meeting with my team member L.. We each cover one silo of the business and this is where we share what is going on to see if there is anything global and coordinate joint projects. FIll her in on an ongoing legal issue impacting our work in detail since she hadn’t heard the details.
1pm--resume work for the rest of the day. There is still too much to do and no time
6pm--talk my evening walk (only 21 squirrels today, still seems like too many), heat up leftover chicken parm and noodles and get back to work--I always try to get ahead of the next week but it is always impossible because the pile of things undone just grows.. J. doesn’t get home from work until 9. We turn on Netflix while I keep working until I am basically dead.
1am--pass out on top of my bed without brushing teeth.
Friday (Spent = $175)
10am--I have the day off today since my birthday is coming up and yet it still doesn’t seem like enough to make up for the rest of the week. J is home all day and decides to eat breakfast outside and play video games for most of the morning. Today is payday for me, so I add an extra donation to the local food bank for the month. ($50)
12pm--lunch a small lunch of fancy cheese and sausages while J watches me play the Sims. I find running the lives of my fake family very soothing after a long week.
3pm--take a very long walk with J around the big 4 mile loop in our neighborhood. My bad knee aches by the time we get back and we resume vegging on the couch but decide that we can crack a beer since it is already the weekend for us.
6pm--shower and get ready for the night. We decide to go to a local restaurant for dinner. Since we basically never leave the house anymore, I dress like a peacock whenever I do now--I wear a fully sequined midi skirt with a bright purple oversized sweater over it and cat eye eyeliner since eye make up is the only makeup now. Nice change from sweatpants all day.
7pm--Sit outside several tables from the next guests at the local Irish pub. We love to listen in on other people’s random conversations and the other people are on fire tonight--one girl claims she is only allergic to high fat foods and the only guy at the table is wearing a MAGA hat and claims that he knows that a local bar is involved in sex trafficing..so pretty standard Long Island people watching. Dinner comes to $80 with 100% tip because we had our favorite waiter tonight.
9pm--we stop in a small biergarten that is on the walk home. The bar attached to it is always packed over capacity with people (maskless) but since the weather is cooler, we are one of only three sets of people sitting outside. We order a few rounds of pumpkin beers and talk until they close. ($45 with the tip)
11pm--bedtime
Saturday (Spent = $195)
8am--get out, get caffeinated and hop in the shower. We are meeting a friend in NYC for a goodbye brunch--she is moving across the country and we haven’t seen her once since the lockdowns started in March. Wrap my hair up to towel dry for a bit while I do a little cleaning.
9am--spend over an hour blowing out my hair and getting ready and we start the drive into Queens. I am wearing a black and white polka dot maxi dress and bright green glitter eyes.
11am--arrive in Astoria, park the car and make the long walk to the rendezvous point. I haven’t crossed the city limits since Covid started and it feels weird to walk around the neighborhood I used to live in while everyone is wearing masks.
12pm--meet up with A. at brunch spot. We have to wait for a few, and service is slow but we order way too much food and way too many drinks and talk non stop. I am really going to miss her so much. We pick up the check ($175 with tip)
5pm--We walk A back to her apartment and say goodbye. I insist on a hug, social distancing be damned, because I don’t know when the next time I will ever see her. J and I are still a bit tipsy from the drinks, so we walk to Astoria Park to watch people and sit looking out at the city as the sun sets before driving home. I missed that place.
7pm--go to Taco Bell drive thru for a giant sack of hard tacos on the way home ($20). Turn on TV and chill for a little bit while trying to finish our Parks and Rec re-watch before it leaves Netflix.
11pm--Lights out.
Sunday (Spent = $797)
9am--wake up slightly hungover. Definitely didn’t drink enough water yesterday. Go downstairs to find my husband has already made coffee for me with creamer and sugar.
10am--decide to do some online shopping. We broke our toaster (only took 16 years for it to bite the dust) so I order a new one from Macy’s ($200.) Glossier is having one of their rare sales (plus 10% cash back on Rakuten!) so I stock up on multiples Brow Boy and mascara while I can get a discount and decide to throw a bunch of their liquid eyeshadows in my cart to try out ($285, ouch). I order my weekly groceries for delivery from Freshdirect--this week is a big week. Stock up on more pumpkin spice oat milk (because I am a basic fall bitch), almond milk, veggies, chicken breast, yogurt, some quick premade freezer meals and a ton of fridge packs of Coke Zero since my husband is WFH this week and he drinks this like water all day ($212 with 25% tip)
1pm--Watch J play video games for a few hours while I clean. Set up a fundraiser on Facebook for my birthday to support IRC and donate $100 to get the ball rolling.
5pm--Log into work. No rest for the weary--my normal presentation has been pulled up a day which is a big deal considering the time we spend doing this analysis and when the data becomes available for us.
8pm--stop working and make flank steak and mashed potatoes for dinner. I try to rush the mash and fuck it up. My grandmother is rolling in her grave, cursing me in Irish for this mistake. Get right back to work as soon as I am done eating, but crack open a bottle of wine and turn Parks and Rec back on in the background.
11pm--Bedtime!
Monday (Spent = $0)
5am--get up, take a shower without washing my hair, get ready and get caffeined. J is home this week and we take a walk before starting work.
7am--log in to work and get cracking. The vast majority of the data I need for Wednesday didn’t become available until today so I know I have a hellish ride ahead of me. Pull, pull, pull.
11am--first meeting of the day. Get asked to urgently pull one of the things I was going to prep for Wednesday for literally as soon as humanly possible today. There will never be enough caffeine.
12pm--TB with the manager. She yells at me for not having “anything at all done.” She ignores when I point out that due to our three day processing window that today is literally the first day a huge chunk of this could even be started. Questions one of the reports that she herself built and tells me that I must have “messed up the formulas.” This is the first time I had to pull this, previously called out that things looked off and was told to not touch anything at all.
2pm--next meeting. Get another “need this yesterday” request from the manager. Does not provide any context so I have to contact several people myself and find out that she misstated the request.
3pm--I have checked the report (plus all previous versions of the file and all of the versions of it that she built for the other brands) and every last one of them is wrong in multiple places. When I bring this back to her, she does not acknowledge the mistake in any way and still claims I “changed it”--which doesn’t explain why the same report is wrong for the other business silos.
4pm--back to my actual work. FInish the urgent request and send it to the manager to approve as required. She argues that none of this is needed and I should not send. This was directly requested by senior leadership so no,I am sending it to them. Refuses to approve. I send it anyway and forward the communication between my manager and I to HR.
6pm--Office 365 crashes. What a disaster. Regain access at 8pm and resume work.
8pm--eat can of Spagetti-O’s while working..
11pm--finish second urgent request. Keep working.
2am--nowhere near done but I need to sleep at some point..
Tuesday (Spent = $56)
6am--Happy birthday to me. Did I even sleep? Am I even awake? J kind enough to make me espresso with our moka for extra caffeination this morning. Read the newspaper and chat with J for a while with J.
7am--check email to find multiple emails of praise for my work on the project my manager didn’t want to pass along. Manager chimes in trying to take the praise because of course she did. Answer follow-ups.
8am--start working on the presentation deck for an early meeting tomorrow. Urgent project will not be included because it was essentially covered yesterday and there is no new data.
9am--TB with the manager. She is furious that I sent along the urgent project. I record all Zooms with her due to our ongoing conflicts. Point out to her that literally an hour ago she was trying to take credit for that work that she hated so much. Manager hangs up on Zoom.
10am--resume working on decks. Pinged by co-worker with a few questions and take some time to answer them and commiserate over how we both need to GTFO out of here. Back to back meetings, then back to work.
4pm--Second TB with the manager, who is ready to go to the mats and comes out swinging at me. Presentation is not even discussed. I am extremely candid about how disappointed i have been in her since returning from furlough--she has ignored calls, stolen work, blamed others for her mistakes, barely engaged with the junior team members (leaving it to me to manage them essentially) and that she still has not provided clear roles and responsibilities for what the team should be doing since our team was restructured. I am very clear that I am extremely frustrated as it is clear she has no intention of developing people, promoting people, or even setting people up to be successful because she is not willing to listen or change, nor even set a good example as a leader. By the time we finally get around to my work, she says she doesn’t want to see it anymore.
5pm--log off for a while. Husband goes out to get beer and snacks for the debate while I cry. ($20)
6pm--My parents got me flowers for my birthday and they just delivered them, sob some more but at least for a different reason. Call them to thank them and my mother uses some classic Irish profanity regarding my boss.
7pm--order pad thai for dinner ($36 with tip.) Tune into the pre-debate coverage, edit MD and cry some more.
9am--debate kicks off, log back into work and finish my presentation while seething from eight kinds of anger.
12am--Finally bedtime.
Total Spent = $1303.55
Food/Drinks = $376
Groceries = $212
Charity = $150
Shopping = $485
Other = $80.55
(Hopefully I didn't miss a sum in there, it's been a week and it's only Tuesday...)
This is definitely a very very spendy week for me, between the goodbye brunch, the birthday spending and everything else. I had intentionally selected a week where I knew I would spend a lot of money just to see how much it would be at its worst. I am not surprised that the majority was concentrated on the weekend--I don’t really have time to spend money during the week since I am too busy!
When I look back at this diary, the first thing that I am struck by is how much I really need to leave my job. It is really easy to be mad in the moment and then decide to plow through because you need the money or the health insurance and thus you normalize the misery, but it was terrifying to see how many hours I managed to put in during a four day work week, and how much chaos my team really is in. There is no way a person can live like this without an eventual collapse. This is just reinforcing that I need to focus on finding a new job and making that my highest priority. It is making me miserable--I am not sleeping, I have gained a crazy amount of weight, and my body constantly hurts because all I do is slump over a desk all day. I dread when I have to add my two hour commute back into the mix.

2020.09.30 02:23 SuperDuckMan Went to a BJJ gym and trained no gi, couldn't get any takedowns to work. Thoughts?

I've started training BJJ and Muay Thai lately and what I've found was that I can't hit any throws on the people there unless they're from wrestling. I can hit throws fine in judo because I'm a not entirely atrocious sankyu, but in BJJ it seems like everyone immediately stuffs my attempts to go for anything from Judo. I can hit singles and doubles but nothing from Judo.
I can't seem to figure out grips and positioning for my Judo throws, and the fact everyone there has about 40 pounds on me doesn't help things. It's a big weight difference but I can normally neutralise it, don't know why I can't now.

2020.09.30 01:38 ShinyKnight242 Peak human Navy SEAL vs 7 men in a street fight

The Navy SEAL can bench 500 lbs, squat 700 lbs, and deadlift 800. He trained in several martial arts such as Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Boxing Judo, and Jiu-Jitsu and earned a black belt in every single one, or in the case of boxing, golden gloves. He's fought in 2 wars, the Iraq War and the War in Afghanistan. His combat reflexes are as fast as Bruce Lee and has the stamina of a marathon runner.
The men attacking him are a bunch of unarmed, untrained street thugs from ages 18-25. They don't know that the man is a SEAL because he is unarmed and in civilian clothes. They however, aren't willing to retreat.
R2: Thugs know he is a SEAL and his history in martial arts.

Ah I see, the line is filling up. Well, come on then, step up, don’t be shy! One at a time please. Single file. On this ride I will take you through the various circles of this specimen’s mind. Well, you’ll meet him eventually. Don’t ask me why he’s doing this, he insisted I be your guide through this train wreck.. I mean.. this wonderful journey.. right! Step up into the boat. Keep all hands and legs and preferably your head within the boat. Aaaand that was my foot you just stepped on but no matter.. we soldier on. The waters may get rough, they may get choppy, but if you stay inside you will be safe.
Right! Let’s get on with it, shall we? First up, the usual drool.. and by that I mean the cineplex! Notice the tall shelves towering to the heavens with stacks of dvds, blue rays, and box sets of tv shows. It’s all been accumulated here since 1994.. that was a good year. The lion king and pulp fiction came out that year. Do you see the red door at the end of the hall there? That’s the anime section, people haven’t gone there in a while.
Next we have the hobbies, yes, the nature brimming all around. The aroma of hot food from various parts of the world all coming together. Dogs barking.. cats plotting world domination.. pandas cuddlier than ever.. I quite enjoy this part of the ride. It’s far more scenic. Help yourself to some pad Thai, some fish fry, some whiskey and rye? Maybe a game of badminton? Or some video games? Or maybe a little comfortable silence..
.. .. Moving on! Oh.. right.. don’t look now, or perhaps look but don’t make it too obvious. But you see the dark shadow in the corner there? The one that’s hunched over and brooding? That’s Bob. We don’t like Bob. He’s a bit of a downer. Comes and goes as he pleases. Hovering over people like a dark cloud, draining away their energy and life source. Bringing nothing but the cold void of darkness..... I wouldn’t recommend approaching him just yet. But who knows, maybe you can help him find his way.
Well, would you look at that. We’ve come to the end of our journey. I wish it were happier.. but this isn’t a special masseuse parlour in Thailand. Thank you for staying inside at all times. There are many monsters that reside in these waters but they’re mostly harmless. There’s a free hug from a panda on your way out. Don’t worry he’s very friendly.

Ok that was a lot longer than I expected. So hi, I’m Akshay, 26 years old, from India. If you made it to the end, thank you for your time. I’m looking to make some new friends and get to know more people. It’s such a weird time we live in. I should have put a ‘please wash your hands’ sign at the entrance. I hope you guys were responsible enough to do so. Big round of applause to the Guide for taking you through. He has a strange accent and I don’t know where that comes from. If you’re interested, send me a message. The chat function on the phone app is ludicrous. I can’t seem to get it out of the way. Terrible, I know.
Hope to hear from you soon :)

2020.09.28 18:20 sky-water Is rebirth geographically confined to some extent?

From what I understand, in Buddhism, you're reborn into a family or society you have some connection to in your previous life or lives. So for example, if you're a German who doesn't know a single Thai and have known zero Thais in your previous lives, the chances of you being reborn in Thailand is close to zero as you don't have any connections to any Thais. Does this mean rebirth is geographically confined to some extent?

2020.09.28 12:26 BlockDotCo Blockchain Use in Intellectual Property

Blockchain Use in Intellectual Property
Link to original article: https://block.co/blockchain-use-in-intellectual-property/
Patents, trademarks, and industrial designs, along with copyrights, are all types of intellectual property protections that help creators of written stories, inventions, artistic works, or symbols to stop people from stealing or copying their pieces of work. In this article, we will examine how blockchain is used in Intellectual Property rights.
Broadly speaking, Intellectual Properties (IP) are “unique, value-adding creations of the human intellect that result from human ingenuity, creativity, and inventiveness.” (Kalanje, 2006).
By observing trends, we can identify a steady increase in the number of Intellectual Property applications worldwide. According to official statistics by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), applications worldwide of patents grew 72.3% over ten years, increasing to 3,326,300 from 2008 to 2018. Trademarks grew an astonishing 160% over the same period, to a record 14,321,800 number of applications, while industrial design applications were 1,312,600, growing by 61%. Every country has a specific authority where to apply for proper protection. However, it is becoming increasingly common that these jurisdictions will utilize blockchain technology to provide a smoother, faster, and cheaper application process and a system that ensures an incorruptible and secure timestamping through the hashing function.
How does it work?
Blockchain ‘trust’ is guaranteed by hashing algorithms, instead of third parties. Since, by default, hashes are unique and cannot be misinterpreted, nor two same hashes can be produced, it’s just easy to identify and match that hash with a unique document creating an unambiguous proof of existence. This way, a permanent ledger of data is created to prove the existence and the lifecycle of a specific IP right, enhancing its protection at a registry or in court.
Blockchain use in Intellectual Property potential is enormous, aiding in the evidence of creatorship and provenance authentication to registering and clearing IP rights; digital rights management; establishing and enforcing IP agreements, licenses, or exclusive distribution networks through smart contracts; and transmitting payments in real-time to IP owners.
In the case of patents, the real benefit of using blockchain lies in the immutable ledger of records with a tamper-proof code providing strong evidence of facts about an invention life-cycle. However, unlike copyrights, any new creation will still have to be patented with the proper authority or anyone else will be free to copy it or claim it without incurring any legal trouble.

“Deploying blockchain technology within the patent system could reduce inefficiencies in recording and efficiently agreeing the time of registrations, perhaps across several national patent systems” (Boucher et al., 2017).
In the case of Copyrights, these do not need to be registered with a government authority, therefore blockchain can have a major role in ensuring that evidence can be provided of authorship, use, and status of a specific production. Particularly, in case of disputes in court, blockchain provides strong evidence to prove an inventor’s right on intellectual property, and protect legal rights on authorship. So, when including writing and literary or artistic works, creators get some type of protection automatically via blockchain, whereas with others, they have to apply for it.
Trademarks, on the other hand, are the IP protection type that can most benefit from blockchain because it can easily, quickly, and very cheaply prove how similar are two marks to each other and who can claim to have used it first, providing immutable and timestamped proof of dates and usage. By using blockchain, many of the questions which can arise about exactly when, where, and how the trademark was used, can be instantly answered.
Cyprus-based company Block.co provides services in a range of different industries, and timestamping trademarks on the blockchain is one of them. The company is a spin-off of the University of Nicosia, one of the biggest blockchain contributors globally, and its mission is to eliminate document fraud in all sectors, by transforming the way institutions manage digital records.
International business and technology lawyer Christiana Aristidou makes large use of Block.co’s services and especially in copyrights and trademarks for several of her clients.
“We consider the Block.co solution indispensable towards our objective of constantly enhancing the provision of our legal services through innovative technological solutions. The protection of copyright and other relevant intellectual property rights now involves a simple, fast, automated, and cost-efficient, blockchain-backed certificate issuance. Using blockchain, thereby ensuring a transparent, immutable, secure, time-stamped, and tamper-proof recording of data, the Block.co solution offers a revolutionary and innovative means to protect our clients’ intellectual property, instead of other time-consuming and costly traditional processes.” she recently stated.
“Specifically, our clients’ data and evidence supporting their authorship, invention, or creation of any property that warrants copyright protection, may now be recorded in a digital document, which is then verified in a trusted and time-stamped manner on a blockchain. Our clients retain ownership and control of their data, having been granted easy access to a self-verifiable blockchain-secured certificate of such data.”
Smart Contracts
Smart contracts could also represent an important asset of blockchain technology because they can be used in intellectual property to establish and enforce agreements such as licenses and allow the transmission of payments in real-time to IP owners. Indeed, they allow automatic payments for transactions between users and rights holders with no middle man, thereby cutting out intermediate fees, longer procedures, and bureaucratic hurdles.

Blockchain in IP around the world
In Europe, various governmental agencies and IP registries such as the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) are actively involved in researching and promoting blockchain capabilities within the industry.
In particular, they believe blockchain can transform IP rights by highlighting, in one of their advanced research forums, that:
  • IP and blockchain are interrelated
  • Blockchain is transformative
  • IP protection will drive innovation in the ecosystem
  • Blockchain technology will transform IP protection and enforcement
  • Blockchain technology provides opportunities for both pirates and law enforcement
In India, the IPO (Indian Patent Office) is working on using blockchain and other innovative technologies like AI and IOT to enable smoother patent processes. A Blockchain-AI-based ecosystem is on the table to manage IP protection in India, intending to produce a much more efficient, straightforward, and faster procedure. IPO recently announced a tender called, “Expression of Interest for Making use of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, IoT and other latest technologies in the Patent Processing system of IPO”, reinforcing their will to proceed along this line of work and stay up to date with the technological innovation that blockchain, AI and IoT can bring to the benefit of IP rights. A legal framework for a Blockchain-based IP registry to protect and commercialize smart ideas is one of the main and earliest initiatives the IPO is taking for the Indian IP industry.
In the United States, we find a clear example of how blockchain is used to protect American businesses from IPR theft by testing imports. Since blockchain has proven to be beneficial to streamline communication between multiple parties securely, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), with the funding of the Department of Homeland Security’s Science & Technology Directorate, recently completed a proof-of-concept (PoC) of a blockchain platform with that specific aim. Personal data and trade secrets would be kept safe at all times using encrypted keys, with the blockchain acting as an immutable ledger to record trade transactions.
In Southeast Asia, Thailand is leading the way in developing blockchain technology for IP protection. Various organizations and government offices have invested in projects aimed at implementing the tech to make IPR processes more efficient and faster. The Ministry of Commerce has recently launched a feasibility study to explore the use of blockchain for IP registration in the country, while the Thai Trade Policy and Strategy Office (TPSO), in collaboration with the British Embassy, were designated to analyze the study and translate it into action plans for future developments.
Conclusion — Blockchain limits and benefits in IP
As with every new technology, especially the most disruptive ones, setbacks can be both from a technical and a systemic perspective. Enormous processing power and scalability are still the main issues from a technical point, whereas a system that could connect registries across the world through a single distributed ledger represents the main challenge, not only for IP-related industries. Thankfully, Block.co’s solution already uses the Bitcoin blockchain and its network effect for this purpose, envisioning truly decentralized and secure storage for IP rights, that will outlive any issuing institution itself.
An international standardized system and platform that could facilitate global communication and successful management of IP rights via blockchain is an ambition that is reflected in healthcare, law, and many other industries. On the other hand, blockchain based IP rights enforcement is already a huge achievement, especially for those small artists who could not afford teams of lawyers to defend them in disputes to prove records of their authorship.

2020.09.27 16:27 throwfsjs An important topic that I could really use some insight from other Engineers: Managing your EGO

Background, EE major, worked in the aerospace industry for 15 years and after that, started my own e-commerce business which has been successful and allowed me to live internationally while having a team supporting the business. I’m 39. I read a lot of philosophy, history, politics and generally, try to understand the world more as well as listen to various science and philosophy podcasts like Sam Harris (not for politics but for approaches on how to think, hope I don’t get flamed for his political leanings as that’s not why I listen to him).
I’m reaching out here because I feel engineers are the closest group of people that can understand some of the plights I have been struggling with. To be fair, even within engineering in the various companies I’ve worked for in the aerospace industry, there’s a lot of incompetency but the smartest, most logical thinking people I have ever met, are always Engineers (I understand some of this perception might be skewed by the fact I just generally meet more engineers). Having been out of the industry for 6-7 years now, I am missing the wise words of more senior engineers who really used to provide me life advice and mentor me in ways of thinking.
The issue (I apologize in advance for what must sound egoistic as I didn’t want to take too much time choosing every single word to soften my statement)
For the last 20 years, I have really honed my thinking in an attempt to be highly objective, logically, fact based, understanding the source, considering multiple variables in a given system or scenario, removing bias, playing things out to its logical conclusion if I take certain actions, understanding unknowns, managing risk, being hyper aware of what I know and what I don’t know, readily admitting what knowledge I lack, etc when thinking about any single topic in life. This is generally what good engineers always try to do in order to get better at what we do. After 20 years of doing that, it has served me very well as I generally always understand what is happening accurately in a given situation in life as well as it has led me to successfully start a business but as you get better and better at that, I feel more and more isolated in that, so much of what I hear from everyone around me (opinions, etc from friends/family), is quite frankly, just low level, surface thinking. To be blunt, 99% of opinions I hear are “dumb”. Over the years, I generally try to bite my tongue and not give my opinion as most of the times, when I do share my opinion and really break down the logic of everything, most people can’t even seem to comprehend, consider or visualize more than 1-2 variables for instance. And what would sometimes happen is they would feel the need to blindly defend their position at times. But generally, if the people are of somewhat average competency, they would not be able to really even appreciate some conversational depth. It almost always leads no where. So I think generally, it’s best to bite my tongue and don’t share my opinions given the level of competency of the average crowd.
Does anybody else feel the same? As in feeling so many people around them are “incompetent” and feeling isolated? How do you guys manage it? Any insight from some of the more senior engineers? What do you guys do or would you advice? How do I stop feeling like I’m living on an island by myself. I miss kicking the shit with my fellow engineers at office as everything was so congruent as we mostly all thought so logical. As they say, sometimes, ignorance is bliss and “simplenot smart people have happier lives”. My patience level is also sooo low the last few years as running a business is not an easy task. So my tolerance for incompetent people around my life is low and I get frustrated easily.
Additional insight as it might add more color to my issue: I was born in Asia, went to school in Madison, WI, worked in corporate America for 15 years, and moved to Thailand (I’m not Thai) 3 years ago. Although I still had this issue in America, it’s definitely more pronounced in Asia with the lack of logical thinking as that’s not something really championed here. Have not met many engineers here socially.
I apologize again for the egoistic way I wrote the above. Not sure how else to convey it without the message being lost.
Edit: I think I need to give some example of “dumb comments” I have heard from people around me in the last 2 weeks as some of the replies seem to think I’m possibly lacking emotional IQ or I’m “up my own ass”.
Example 1: mentioned to my friend that I think it’s very important to me that when I have children and they are growing up, I definitely will be assigning chores to them as a way to teach them responsibility, introduce them to hard work and the concept of if you want something, you work for it. He was perplexed and thinks that I might be treating them like “slaves” and those things should be taken care of by hired maids. I tried explaining the logic of what kind of values are imparted on children when they are given chores to help around the house which I would also be doing together to no avail.
Example 2: mentioned to another friend that what’s important to me in a life partner is that they are grounded and down to earth and don’t think helping around the house is “beneath them”. If I have to do my own laundry and wash my own dishes, I expect my wife to help out as well. They commented that I am looking to “marry a maid”. Tried explaining to them that in a healthy relationship, all parties should try to contribute equally but it didn’t sink in. In Asia, if families have money, many of the spoiled wives kick back, buy $10,000 handbags and go to cafes which maids take care of the kids. They couldn’t understand why I insisted on wanting to live in a grounded way which I deem to be healthy and the only way to have a lasting and happy relationship.
These are 2 examples where I’m like....sigh, just perplexed and frustrated and feel like everyone is “dumb”. The few comments of “you can learn from anyone” - believe me, I’m constantly learning and acquiring knowledge from my surroundings in a very conscious fashion- I didn’t get to where I did without that very important tool. And not all opinions are valid and have value - they are demonstrable correct and incorrect answers that lead to a better solution or life. Not all the time, but for many - to not acknowledge that would be a mistake in service of trying to sound “positive” or “politically correct”.

2020.09.25 23:45 allbanglanewspaper Selim siphoned off Tk 13.28cr to Thailand

Selim siphoned off Tk 13.28cr to Thailand
Online casino kingpin Selim Prodhan raked in crores through online gambling in Bangladesh and amassed business firms and a villa in Thailand.

Selim Prodhan
For his investments in Bangkok and Pattaya he was known among many as Thai Don.

He bought most of the properties through laundering the ill-gotten money out of the country after 2018, investigators have learnt.

After almost a year-long investigation in a case filed under the Money Laundering Act against Selim Prodhan and five others last year, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police has come to know about his wealth and properties abroad.

CID officers found evidence suggesting that Selim Prodhan and the five other accused have laundered Tk 13.28 crore they made from an online casino trade.

"Since it will take longer to find the evidence of Selim's money and properties abroad, we have submitted a charge sheet against Selim and the other accused only for laundering Tk 13.28 crore," Special Superintendent of CID's Financial Crime Unit Mostafa Kamal told The Daily Star yesterday.

Officers also pressed charges against Selim's South Korean associate Youngsik Lee, and Bangladeshi associates Akhteruzzaman, Roman, Arifur Rahman and Chowdhury Golam Moula, said CID officials.

Four of them have been arrested and two are on the run.

The investigator found nine businesses, a villa in Thailand and two bank cheques of Tk 6 crore. Besides, 83 bank accounts of the six accused were frozen.

Mostafa Kamal said the investigation officer of the case CID Inspector Shahidul Islam Khan have the permission to launch an independent inquiry to find evidence of Selim's wealth and properties overseas.

Selim also has bank accounts in the USA and has properties in Bangladesh, Kamal added.

Officers are not sure whether Selim has properties in London and Japan.

While he was remanded by the CID, Selim told investigators that after he went to Japan in 1988, he worked at a hotel.

He also claimed that he started a hotel business there, but could not show any document to support his claims, CID officials said.

Selim even stopped paying the rent for his office and home and used to scare the landlords, officials added.

On September 28 last year, Rab arrested Salim at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport while he was attempting to flee the country.

Based on information, the Rab conducted a 20-hour raid at his Gulshan office and Banani residence that day.

During the raid, the law enforcers seized around Tk 29 lakh in cash, currencies of 23 countries worth Tk 77.63 lakh, 32 cheque books of three banks, five credit cards, two pieces of spotted deer hide and 48 bottles of foreign liquor.

Rab investigators found that at least Tk 9 crore was deposited in a month to a single payment gateway used for online gambling, with the amount shared equally between Salim and his North Korean partner Doo. The duo had few more online payment gateways.

2020.09.24 16:46 Holocene32 My story

I heard Holocene at my cousin’s wedding. That was the first Bon Iver song I had ever heard. It was just playing softly in the background as we sat in chairs on the grass, talking and waiting for the whole thing to start. Something felt really good about the song, so I shazzamed it.
I listened to the song on headphones as I flew home from the wedding. I was actually really underwhelmed, and I turned it off after about a minute. I dismissed it as just a guitar and some unintelligible, falsetto lyrics. But I knew that there was something I felt that first time I heard it, so I saved the song for later.
A week passed. I gave it another shot, maybe it would grow on me. This time I read the lyrics as I listened, still not quite sure what they meant. But I began to appreciate the beautiful acoustic guitar, and the full arrangement of instruments that came with the chorus. I began to appreciate the unexplainable instruments in the bridge which sounded like a thousand little voices. And most of all the lyrics leading into the chorus hit me hard - and at once I knew, I was not magnificent.
I started listening to Holocene every night before I went to sleep. Every single second of the song began to be beautiful to me. I wondered if this Bon Iver guy’s other songs sounded just as perfect. I listened to the first 30 seconds of a few of his other songs from the BI BI album, and I was severely disappointed. How could someone write such a pretty song and the rest of their catalogue was just random production and folk music?
As tends to happen with the music we love, I eventually stopped listening to Holocene. I had worn it out, it didn’t feel the same as it did before. It stayed on my playlist, but I moved on to other songs. After about a year passed, I found myself looking for new music to listen to, something fresh but familiar. I gave BI BI another chance, sitting on my deck with headphones on. I started with Perth and forced myself to listen straight through the album.
And something clicked: the other songs were just as beautiful as Holocene. They were different for sure, but the emotion, his amazing voice, it was all there. I found myself going back to listen to Minnesota, WI one more time. I listened to Towers and Michicant and Calgary again. How could I possibly have thought these were average folk songs a year ago? I was felt like I had been keeping these great treasure from myself just from my own ignorance.
Meanwhile, I had begun browsing Reddit. I found this sub and saw how much love there was for Bon Iver’s other albums, notably 22, A Million which I had taken a listen to a year ago and wasn’t thrilled. But I have it a fresh chance. I had kept myself from enjoying BI BI so why should i make the same mistake of passing judgement too quickly? Having really started to appreciate BI BI and Justin’s voice, I dove into 22, A Million.
I liked most of it. Deathbreast would take time (and to this day it still needs time) for me to appreciate it. Moon water was weird but interesting. And when I got to 8 (circle), ears melted off. I had read a post on here about how beautiful the sac solo was, how it sounded so sexy when it came in. But that did not lessen my surprise and joy when I heard it. I grew to love the rest of the album in time as well, and with the help of Thai subreddit I began to FEFA and i,i and fell in love.
Now here I am, so happy that I gave Holocene a second chance, so grateful that I didn’t give up on Bon Iver. I’ve learned to listen without judgement, open ears and open eyes.

2020.09.23 14:59 sivakumar927570 thailand tourist attractions

Today I came with some tips from Thailand where all the South Indians go usually This is a place where a lot of South Indians have gone This is not a country where no one knows much More people go to Thailand for tourism than to the Gulf Now I'm sharing some tips according to my experience At first I'm taking about the visa Thailand provides on arrival visa for Indian Passport holders They will charge 2000 Baht for the visa Sometimes it will be around 1000 Baht They also provide some offers in which the visa cost is absolutely free It was visa free at the time of my visit They also put some criteria for the visa purposes We must have to keep your photographs during the time of on-arrival There are options for taking the photographs Have a hard copy of the photograph beforehand also keep the xerox of our passport They will ask it and also the xerox of hotel confirmations and per person you've to keep 10,000 Baht as show money For families, you've to keep 20,000 Baht as show money Sometimes they won't inquire you about the show money ans sometimes they won't accept the credit cards So if possible try to keep dollars which is equivalent to 10,000 Baht or 10,000 Baht itself in your hand Money transferring is possible within the airport but it is possible after completing the immigration process You can get out of the airport only after taking the visa Before that, you've to show the required amount during immigration If possible try to collect the dollars in case of non availability of Thai Baht from anywhere Dollars are acceptable in everywhere So you can convert the dollars to Thai Baht after the immigration This is the point to note out in the case of visa Next is the case of airlines It is best to choose Air Asia while traveling from your home town There are two airports in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and Don Mueang Airport (DMK) These two airports are very near to each other and they are separate airports thus interconnection is no possible with these Indigo airlines is another option from Kerala which is also available from Bangalore as well as Mumbai to Bangkok and Phuket Thus your arrival is at BKK airport From Kochi, Air Asia will land at DMK airport DMK has only this facility Metro link is available in BKK and is not available in DMK Bus service is there in DMK If you opt for Metro, you will have to take a bus from DMK and get off somewhere at the nearest MRT Taxi service are also available from both the airports The main reason to point out the metro link is that it is the journey with low cost compared with other modes because I was traveling by metro If you book the hotel near by the metro station then you can directly go to your hotel via metro within a low cost I booked a hotel in the Makkason area of Bangkok I also got off at Bangkok Airport (BKK) and reached Makkasan area by metro. So this is the reason to point out the metro link Other than Air Asia, one can reach Bangkok by Indigo, Sri Lankan airlines, Scoot, Silk Air and so on You can also choose Indigo Airlines which will have a layover in in Bangalore and from there to Bangkok Several airlines are there from South India The reason for the direct travel is that if you choose Malaysian airlines in which you will spend extra minutes or hours in Malaysia for a 45 minutes travel Transfer in between flights is a huge loss Malaysia to Thailand is around a 45 minutes journey So it is better to take a direct flight to Thailand and also it won't affect your next day trip You'll get tired after the round trip Since it was budget airlines, rate is normal These are the tips related to airlines Next I'm detailing about the places in Thailand As you know there are many places in Thailand and the well known famous places are Bangkok and Pattaya Everyone will tell about these places at first These are well known places in Thailand Besides that there are other places in Thailand In the south part, the tourist places like Phuket, Krabi, Phi Phi Island are there The distance between Bangkok and Phuket are around 600-700 km From Bangkok it is having a whole night bus journey to Phuket Your whole Thailand trip will depends on your planning Some explore only Bangkok and Pattaya and return back Some explore only Phuket others will explore both Phuket and Krabi There are those who see all this together and come back When this happens it will increase your trip cost and the day too So you've to create your itinerary according to your convenience I will share my places of visit Anyway I'm going to Thailand Once I see a country, I will not go there I explore Thailand in a detailed way I'm not sure if I'll get there again, so I saw the places in a detailed way I went directly to Phuket and from there to Phi Phi island I visited Phi Phi by ferry and through ferry I visited Krabi Arrived in Bangkok by flight from Krabi I returned home from Bangkok This is how my Thai itinerary was Due to lack of time, I avoided to visit Pattaya This is how I created my itenary According to your itenary, you've to book the tickets If you're planning only to visit Bangkok, you can directly come and visit it Or else If you're planning to visit Bangkok and Phuket, so you have to take care about the return ticket So you're arriving at Bangkok and your return ticket is from Phuket You can also do the reverse booking ie; arriving at Phuket and the departure is from Bangkok Domestic flights within Bangkok are cheaper You can travel within the Bangkok in a rate of 2,000 to 3,000 Air Asia is there for the Domestic journey purposes Domestic airports like Krabi, Pattaya, Phuket The journey back and forth here and there is very short and it's cheap too Night bus service is available in these places, if you're choosing to travel by bus So you can travel the inner areas of Thailand in such a way Next I'm detailing about some places and their importance I did a detailed video about the places that I visited Links are available in the description box If needed you can check out the videos Quickly tell the way I went Phuket Places to visit in Phuket: a beach, Pa Tong beach Bangla street, it's a walking street and also a Big Buddha and moreover Wat Chalong Temple is also there In addition we can visit old Phuket town a hill and some more places too This is the main thing to see here in Phuket There is a place named Phi Phi Island and it starts from here From the south side of Phuket you've to take the ferry to reach the phi phi island You can also go back to Phuket from here Or you can go straight to Krabi from Phi Phi You will get accommodation facilities in Phi Phi Phi Phi Island is the interconnection of many islands like Monkey Island, James bond Island and so on The link of the detailed video regarding this will be dropped in the description box Next is Krabi Here you can find a natural hot spring pool in which you can enjoy with hot water around 40 degrees In addition an Emerald pool is also there which constitute hot water with 50 degrees Tiger cave temple in which you have to climb approx 1200 steps Krabi walking street is there Krabi town and so on Next destination is Bangkok It is the main area in Thailand Places like Floating market, Grand Palace, Wat Po, Metro, city train are all there in Bangkok It is a 3 hour drive from Bangkok to Pattaya You can also travel by bus which will costs approx 100 - 150 Baht If you're staying for a couple of days in Pattaya, then you need to take separate ticket from Bangkok to Pattaya and return back from there to Bangkok by bus If you are planning to go to Pattaya for one day only From Bangkok you can seek the help of any tour agent and they will take you to Pattaya They'll take you to Pattaya in the early morning and come back after doing one or two water activities and the beach. You can also get a package by adding Tiger Zoo within that trip Such options are also available Don't get confused Since it's a known country, thus I'm going in a little hurry in detailing These are the things to see in Bangkok and Pattaya I can also give you an extra tip Bangkok is a crowded city It is an area that takes a lot of time to get from one place to another So it's better to go as early as possible There in a canal in Bangkok and there is a metro station named Saphan Taksin a boat service is there beside to this metro station The boat service I traveled at that journey was Boat4u named company 1 day ticket costs 200 Baht 24 hours ticket Since boat service is available only in the morning, we can't take the service for 24 hours So we'll get only 12 hours If you get into the boat during morning, you can get down anywhere at anytime within these 6-7 stops This is the main peculiarity of this boat service So you won't get hault in between the traffic If you're staying beside the metro station, go to Saphan Taksin metro station and enjoy this boat service Thereby you can easily visit Grand Palace and the nearby places also you can visit the historical spot such as Wat Po You can also purchase from the biggest trade center in Bangkok As soon as we board the boat, they give us a map and a brochure It includes the places to visit in each stops These stops has its own tourist attractions After visiting these spots you can return back by this boat to Saphan Taksin and then to your room By going this way you can cover the major attractions in Bangkok town within a single day A floating market is also there in addition to these An old train service is also there In different areas of Thailand you can find many other activities like Pub, bar and so on You can also enjoy these activities too Next is about the safety Nothing to fear and you have the freedom to enjoy in Thailand You can walk down anywhere at any time during the night Robbery is also there You've to give extra care for that, otherwise it is safe to travel and there is nothing to fear about You can also get a rent a bike in Krabi, Phuket and Pattaya Take an IDP with you when you go In case of accident its necessary There is no other problem as long as the accident does not happen Rent a bike will costs around 200 Baht I'm not preferring this in Bangkok because its a crowded city But Phuket and Krabi is not that much crowded and you can also travel with this bike You can go everywhere but it is necessary to carry IDP along with you It is useful when you come across some accidents in between Otherwise you've to go with it which will definitely affect your entire trip So be careful while driving I rented a bike during the journey But I drove it carefully Traveling by bike is cheaper than calling a taxi back and forth within Phuket Once the bike is taken care of and ridden, there are no major problems While renting a bike, you've to surrender your passport or $ 100-200 It depends upon the company that you're renting it Most of the time you have to look at the review of the bike rental company to approach them By going so, places to are more easier and risky too So better to read the reviews before approaching There are some hotels/hostels in which they will provide the service for rent a bike If it is available from your place of stay, then try to arrange it from them It will be some more convenient than other This is the main point regarding rent a bike service and their safety Next is the case about hotel You can book the hotels accordingly through the sites booking.com, agoda.com and all Please do read the reviews before booking If you're visiting there as a bachelor group, then its better to take hostels You can book the hostel with 5-8 members for a single room Per day you can stay there in any hostels within a range of about $ 5-10 You can find such hostels everywhere And more a normal 3 * hotel may range from 700 - 800 Baht But the hostels will be around 200 - 250 Baht which may vary according to their quality You can seek the help of Google review as well and also you can also choose the hostel with 8-9 point rating in Booking.com thus you'll get such a good facility hostel over there Due to the plenty of hotels, it's better to read the reviews before booking it So I can't suggest which hotel is good in Thailand So many hotels are available there As I said read the Google reviews before booking the hotels Thus the range for 3* hotels will be around 600 - 800 Baht If you go for standard ones, it will costs approx 1,000 - 1,200 Baht and you'll get a rooms with 3* facility starting price will be around 600 Baht Most of the South Indians frown when they hear that it is Thailand and look at it with a smile. There is no need to look at that I do not know if there is another country in the world that welcomes so many tourists You've that much of freedom there because tourist are the main asset in Thailand So no need to look towards with another eye That kind of thing is happening in every country So you don't have to look at Thailand in that one way Each and every south Indians will laugh when someone is saying about Thailand No need to see in that way Try to see everything as positive There are many things you can do in Thailand that you think you can't walk In India, it is not possible to sit, feed or even take a photograph with a tiger in which there is no such facility available in India In Thailand there are options like you can feed a Tiger in the Zoo Here you can take a photo with the crocodile You can do so many adventurous activities during the Thailand visit If you want to take a big snake in hand it is possible over there Likewise you can do several such activities from Thailand Sea activities like Scuba diving, Paragliding are available in Thailand opens for tourists We can learn how Thailand attract tourists and how to live with tourism So we should not frown but respect them Taken in a good way, and then everything will be fine Each country has their own pros and cons We do not need to look at it In my opinion there is no need for anyone to frown in going to Thailand It's a good country in which you can go with your family or even as bachelor No need to worry about being safe even if you are going with family It's a good country to visit So you can take the tickets to visit Thailand after the corona They can't live without tourism and they don't have any other major resources like tourism So its essential for them Apart from my detailing tips, there may be some more restrictions after this pandemic situation In the near future we've to take a vaccine for the Corona pandemic which is similar to the vaccine for yellow fever in African region We may have to take the corona vaccine card while travelling These are the next options and that'll consider later So beware of these tips as I said If it opens and if it is useful, then you can easily utilize these tips accordingly If you're planning to visit after my tips or else it anyone knows more than what I explained in this video please do comment in the chat box accordingly You can also point out the mistakes that I made

2020.09.22 18:08 annakaranina Scared of calorie counting again.

I know that sounds absurd, but hear me out.
I grew up a skinny kid and a skinny teenager, but I thought i was fat because people around me growing up said I was. I was 52-59kg till the age of 16, but my friends were 40-46 so I was basically told over and over again that I had to lose weight. Initially this was easy, I cut down on white bread and instant noodles and went from 63 to 59kg in two months. At this point my parents told me I should stop trying to lose more weight because I didn't need to anymore but I still thought I was obese because my friends were in the 40s. (They still are btw) It made me think that was the weight all girls my age were supposed to have and I was abnormal for weighing over 50kg.
I obviously didn't listen, and I started dieting from that point onwards. The issue was that with each diet I gained more weight. After I did the Atkins, I started eating more rice than usual, after Keto I started having excessive sweets and after calorie counting I started having this obsession with food and my portions got bigger. I should probably mention that I am in no way blaming these diets, most of the harm I've done is my own doing, not the diets'.
The reason I'm scared of calorie counting in particular is because I did it 3 years ago for the second time. This time I bought a food scale and I logged in everything I ate, and I was constantly hungry. I was always agitated and I felt pretty hopeless because I realised I'd feel miserable for the months and years to come if I wanted to lose weight. At this point I was 65kg btw. I'm 5'3 and I was 19 when I did calorie counting last.
I quit because my food scale broke and I fell down a hole of I'll probably be this way forever. I started binge eating frequently and that year in particular I remember having takeout food everyday for two months straight. Back then (and until very recently) I felt as though I HAD to have as much food as possible. Then, the dumbass that I am, I switched to IF (again) which made my binge eating worse. It created this reward mentality with food where I thought food would make me happy and dieting wouldn't. I did enjoy exercising but the amount of food I ate meant the exercise didn't matter as much, and eventually I quit that too.
Last year, I tried going on this diet where I just took photos of my food and I tried to limit the amount of rice I ate. I cut out naan, crisps, and sweets. It wasn't a healthy diet but it was better than what I'd been doing before.
The thing with this one was that I gave myself a cheat day, so it was yet another pathway to bingeing. At this point I kind of realised my eating had more to do with my emotional state than anything. If I couldn't identify what made me binge, and if I couldn't tell the difference between emotional eating and hunger, each diet would fail.
I got really anxious because I was 77kg last year September, and I already felt tired babysitting my niece and nephew. It dawned on me that by the time I have my kids, I may not be able to take care of them at all, and a child shouldn't have to suffer because of my obesity. To add to that, I have asthma and everytime I go to a doctor they imply it gets exacerbated because of my weight. I don't know how true this is but I can't ignore the possibility of my asthma deteriorating if I keep gaining weight.
So the past year I accepted that I have severe binge eating tendencies and I need to deal with my personal issues before I lose weight. While things aren't perfect, my eating habits are far from how they were earlier this year. I've stopped emotional eating and my I don't binge as frequently as I used to. I've cut out restaurant food and have invested that money into skincare and haircare products instead.
For the past 2-3 weeks, I've been meal prepping for my sister and I. I'm not gonna lie, I'm an extremely lazy person. I exercise 2-3 times a week (a very recent development) but aside from that I don't move around much. I have this big exam coming up so I'm usually sitting and studying.
My sister has been eating the same stuff I've been eating but has been exercising everyday and has lost 4kg. I've only lost 1kg so far which I thought was okay considering that I'm not exercising much. At the same time, I thought maybe i was deluding myself about the weightloss and what I'm doing isn't actually working.
TLDR; The sidebar in this subreddit talks about calorie counting, and I have installed the app but I'm afraid I'll start bingeing again and gain another 10kg.
My food routine right now is this: Breakfast: brown bread cooked in a teaspoon of butter, with either a poached egg or a single egg omelette (+chai)
Lunch: Two corn on a cobs with chickpeas, yoghurt and a handful of crisps
Dinner: 1 cup of cooked rice with a some chicken dish I prepped. For example, last week I cooked Thai curry but I made it with regular milk and I used chicken without the skin. I've also increased my water intake a lot so I dont eat as much as I used to.
My sister has roughly the same routine but she adds fruits to her diet as well.

2020.09.22 14:00 alphaechobravo Considering a job in Wellington coming from United States. A few questions (or more than a few).

I am a U.S. citizen (Seattle Washington) and considering a job (being recruited, finalist) in Wellington, and I am wondering about the food scene. I lived in California, before Seattle for a while and got addicted to the incredibly good (mostly local chain or non-franchise, not National/international chains like McFood, but In’n’Out, The Hat, and small gastro pubs and restaurants and burger, Gyros, Berliners, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Indian, etc.) and small food gastro pubs and restrurants and there isn’t nearly as much of that in seattle (although the food is still top notch, somewhere not as good as Los Angeles or San Francisco, but close to SFO).
Whats the fast/casual dining food scene, gastro pubs, and late night options? (I am a night owl).
As a single person, I tend to just eat out rather than cook for one, 4-6 days a week, so the food scene is a big determiner where I live in terms of neighborhoods/suburb in previous places I have lived, (WA-Seattle, CA-SFO&LA, Oregon, Washington D.C., Colorado, Virginia, Hawaii, Maryland, Alaska and Berlin, Germany).
How motorcycle friendly is the city in terms of parking and lane-splitting/filtering and the like?
I ride mostly european adventure bikes (BMW and KTM) and have used them to explore most of the western US, Canada and Alaska, including the Arctic/prudhoe bay run and the Al-can highway, and I would love to explore NZ. I am a fully grown, responsible adult, I ride AGATT, and not like I just stole it. I have an electric (zero SR) commuter motorcycle, and would like to bring them over if I get/agree to the job, as IMHO there is nothing better than an electric motorcycle to take the grind out of commuting to the daily grind. I try not to drive a car except when weather demands (snow/ice,) or I need to transport a passenger or cargo. I will sell my auto here, and buy a right-hand drive there. I have been thinking about a volvo XC90 hybrid here as my current auto is now 20 years old (never broke down, given me no problems therefore no reason to get rid of it), that would probably be my first pick there, if the import premium on a euro car isn’t outragous, or another Subaru if it is. I have little doubt, NZ needs more scooby’s based on my trips there, (more than here in seattle, and they are utterly ubiquitous here).
Does anyone paramotor, or paraglide in the area? I can actually fit my entire life into a 20’ shipping container even with the machinery and motorcycles and have room left over. Most jobs will pay for a 40’ so I shouldn’t have any problems moving.
I fly here (private pilot, single-engine-land, and ultralight paramotor) and I understand there is some semi-official certification process for paramotors through an association in affiliation with the government, but I haven’t been able to find much on where one can launch and fly locally. I fly with a handheld radio w/adf, GPS, and VOR (I have a radio telephone operators license as a pilot and I maintain a IFIMC rating for airplanes, in the US,) on the paramotor just incase I need to cordinate with a tower due to airspace rules or airborne traffic. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
I already know housing is insanely expensive, and I would be looking for a small house with a big garage (at least two bay) for motos, car, and machine tools (mill, lathe, cnc router, laser cutter, etc). Reasonably efficient/modern heating cooling and plumbing, that is mold free (I am sensitive to mold issues). I would have about a 750K-950K $NZ budget depending on the sale price of my home here. What can one get for say, $800k NZ?
Nothing? a decent house with a decent garage? in a decent neighborhood?
I expect my current house would go for somewhere between $480-550K US currently and I have some additional money I could dedicate to buying a house. We haven’t got to the point of discussing salary, but it would be at least $180K/y NZ for me to even consider accepting it, and likely more or generous perks/options or profit sharing or investment plan.
Is Giabit broadband commonly available there?
I am getting the impression from my friends at the potential future employer that internet service and bandwidth are all over the place from non-existent/miserable to quite good. (Much as it is here.)
I currently have gig fiber to my house, and the choice of 4 providers, and well, it’s really nice, and internet bandwidth will be an influence on where I live, or if I even take the job. I am not going to take a tech-intense job, with likely on-call only to have crap Internet connectivity when working from home after hours or on-call. (I also expect my employer to pay for it if they want me to use it on-call or after hours work, and I am of a skills/experience level where I can usually demand it be reimbursed and in my name, or paid outright as a perk, in their name, without it being a an issue.)
Would a smaller house or apartment more “city center” and rending/leasing a small a “hobby” or “workshop space”, be a better option than a detached home?
One of the things I dislike about my current house is it’s a half acre of land and requires constant (nearly daily, during the summer) yard work to keep up. I feel sometimes I live here to do yard work. I barely keep up, sometimes I don’t and have to fork out a few thousand to have a pro & crew catch me up.
I lived in a apartment and leased a shop space a few minutes drive away when I lived in LA and when I first moved to Seattle (proper), but I strongly prefer having all my toys in one place where I can access them without a drive when needed if possible, and can (quietly) do motorcycle maintenance anytime in my garage. I currently have more house than I need to get the garage space I have which is still a little shy of what I really need, the car has never been in the garage, only motorcycles and machining equipment, 3d printer, and nonsense like that.
Do you get snow?
How much/often?
We get plenty of wind and rain in Seattle, and usually snow for a few days a year, sometimes it sticks around for a few weeks, every few years, last year it was around for nearly 2 months with over 20” where I live (30minutes drive north of seattle proper,) over a matter of a month or two. I don’t particularly mind snow, except everyone here freaks out and drives absolutely crazy bad (I am from Alaska I grew up with 40°F below zero, only an hour of sunlight and snow and played out side at school as a child in it) and it reduces the number of motorcycle riding outdoor fun days in general since they attempt to plow it, fail, and we wind up with some hardpack ice covered roads, some bare, so (deep) studded motorcycle tires aren’t a option. So I could do without it all other factors the same.
I have been to Wellington (to my potential future employer) a four times on work trips for my previous employer (my potential future employer was a customer). I was never there longer than 13 days (one trip), typically 8-10 days, over the last 6-7 years, haven’t visited in three years as I retired from that company (at 48) when it was sold to a largedumber company ran by idiot, and semi-retired. I have only done contract consulting in the last two years as I see fit, about 5 months over two years. But I think want to get back to work full time and the job is in my interest/skills/experince wheelhouse, (I am actually considered an expert in the field/industry in this particular thing,) and I feel like I am missing something not working. I also wouldn’t mind a change in scenery too (and I love living here in Seattle compared to Los Angeles), I have always wanted to work overseas, my dad did for 3 years when i was a pre-teen in Germany, he moved the whole family for two and a half of those three years, I loved it, and I am sort of ready for another big change and the possibility of fully retiring in 10-15 years there if I like it, although retiring back to Alaska is still plan A, Hawaii plan B.
Unfortunately, most of my work-trip schedules were jam packed, and I had very little time to explore the city or the country, perhaps 3 days (total) over the last 3 trips, so I didn’t see much of the city, but I could tell you how many dry-erase makers were on every white board in every conference room at the office, and which chair in each conference room was most comfortable, and that the hotel bed sheets were over bleached.
I would like to get an extended trip (2-3 weeks, 1-2 months would be ideal,) in before I decide, but with quarantine and general reluctance (but not denial) on the part of the government to issue tourism visas willy-nilly right now, and some temporary family obligations that limit my availiability, I doubt it’s going to happen and almost certainly not a month or two month trip. So internet word of mouth, and virtual visits may be all I get assuming I get to a job offer and successful compensation negotiation.
I can’t name the employeindustry or specifics at this time, and therefore their specific location; I am under a non-disclosure agreement.

2020.09.22 09:57 No_Persimmon7090 Osean turbine conversions part 3 – C-123T Provider

Following on from the C-97J Stratofreighter and C-121F Super Constellation the 3rd turbine conversion is C-123T Provider which was converted from B and K-model Provider transport but it has few variants So before I get into the base model and its variants A bit of background to explain where this idea came form.
In the 1970s the Royal Thai air force had a fleet of C-123K Providers and they attempted to extend its service life by replacing the two 2500 horsepower R2800-99W radial engines with two 4200 horsepower T56-7 turboprops but it wasn’t successful but in Strangereal however Osean used the T-model Provider as a short range transport plane until the C-27J Spartans replaced them.
The base model C-123T Provider which could carry 61 troops or 24,000ib of cargo which Osea used to replace their R2800 powered Providers.
These Providers served in the Belkan War ferrying troops and Supplies to Ustio after it was liberated and now onto the OADF variants.
The VC-123T Provider is the VIP Transport variant that was used to ferry the commander of the Osean Forces on the border with Belka.
The UC-123T Provider is a modified cargo plane for de-forestation and pest control operations like the infamous IRL Agent Orange program from the 1970s where the USAF sprayed dixoins over the forests of North Vietnam to destroy forests that the North Vietnamese Army were using for Guerrilla Warfare but caused major health problems in the decades after the Vietnam War but I could see Osea using de-forestation to clear forest to allow their troops to cross Belka’s forests however I would expect Harling's Government would handle the clean-up and whatever likely health issues came up.
The Osean Air Force wasn’t the only branch to use the Turbo Provider as this aircraft was known and the other branch was the Osean Coastguard as the HC-123T Provider which like its propeller predecessor the HC-123B Provider was used by the coastguard as a short range Search and Rescue plane which they used until after the Belkan War then retired them into long term storage until being refurbished and sold to UPEO for Search and Rescue
now a final new variant I just thought up The AC-123T Provider which were medium sized gunships that were placed between the small AC-47T Spookies and the AC-130 fleet it was armed with one 105mm M102 Howitzer with 100 rounds and two 7.62mm GAU-2A Miniguns with 15550 rounds
Osea originally used some modified C-123Ks as AC-123K night-time surveillance planes which had bomb bay with a capacity of 2000ibs of munitions but the T-model did away with the bomb bay in favour of a full gunship but ultimately the Provider gunships were retired and mostly scrapped
Update: I have a description of the AC-123T Provider
a three tone forest green and dark brown and sandy brown camouflaged AC-123T Provider that had two T56-7 Turboprops with two underwing tanks. among the fuselage were a single M102 Howitzer mounted ahead of the wheel arch with two gau-2a miniguns while under the nose was an infrared camera.

so this is the end of the Osean turbine conversion series I hope you all enjoyed this series of posts and I’ll catch y’all next time

2020.09.20 19:08 TANakMuay Stupid conversation I had with other stylist!

Throw away account as someone in this story know of reddit.
On Friday night I was at a party with a close friend. Somehow someone found out I used to fight in Muay Thai.
This person quickly tagged their friend and come to me and start to talk about martial arts.
Turns out they do kenpo. I told them its cool they do martial arts and tried to end the conversation. They then started to asking about history of Muay Thai. I made it as simple as possible. They tried to make out their art as all special, mystical, and spiritual. I decided to try and end the whole thing by telling them Muay Thai is largely droves by gambling. I made sure to smirk as I told them this, expecting them to find this dirty and horrific since it is completely absent of any sort of spiritual/mystical bullshit.
This got them going even more! They start to telling me that it mean we are just training to win the game while their style are trained to survive in the street.
I replied by telling them I did it for fun and am not too worried about getting into a fight on the street but I’m glad they can defend themselves. Trying to just end the conversation right there...
Another mistake... they decided they need to scare me and try to convince me that I don’t know how to fight in the street because I’m so used to fighting in a sport environment. So I need to learn a thing or two from them.
Not wanting to deal with this, I tried to tell them just to tell me where they train and I will show up to learn... This wasn’t good enough! They desperately want to put on a demonstration!
They then had me do few typical “grab my wrist”, “run at me with your arms outstretched” stuff.
They both have to really think about what they are doing every single time and put them in position where they have terrible balance. Yet every time I put my hands up purely out of habit, they get all excited and told me things like “look! You are covering your head! Now imagine what we can do while you are unable to see us! This is why fighting in sport teach such a bad habit!” Yet they never once had their hands up guarding their head and every single technique they applied were just begging to get swept onto their ass or elbowed right into the face.
Wanting to get away without coming off as rude, I told them that’s cool! I definitely shouldn’t getting into fight in the street! I will just avoid it.
They decided they wanted me to show them some technique. Finally, I realized they just wanted to find every possible way to piss on Muay Thai. I decided to play along. I show them teep.
They keep telling me it can be useful at time but it have no power, doesn’t end fight, on and on! Then they tried to modify it to some sort of snap kick and tell me it is more effective. At that point I was done trying to tactful leave the conversation. I told them to try come at me with whatever they want...
They were super slow at first. Finally I told them to not hesitate. They both take turn to try rush at me with whatever they could think of. To their shock, every single time they weren’t able to land anything at all because they got pushed back with a teep.
Finally one of them told me it is a good technique but it doesn’t end the fight.
Okay... it was time to go nuclear. Next, I decided to show them clinch. In beginning they got frustrated because they keep try to argue that it isn’t fair to start in clinch or with one hand behind their neck and whatever other reasons.
I was done being nice at this point! I told them to just do whatever and I can get them in clinch from there! Again... they tried everything they could only to get stuck in clinch then have my knees or elbows lightly touch them repeatedly just to show how helpless they are.
This wasn’t enough! They keep coming up with a reason or excuses. One of them finally asked what if someone pull out a knife while in clinch. I told them I can show but they have to go at full force as if trying to stab me.
After a few failed attempts at “stabbing” me because they keep getting stuck in clinch and unable to use their “knife” one of them got a bright idea and told me to put him in a full clinch. He then reached toward his pocket as if about to pull a knife out.
Bam!!! I swept him hard! Poor guy have absolutely no idea what was coming and landed with a terrible thud. He was writhing on the ground as I stand over him and told him now I can just kick him right in the head and there’s nothing he can do!
His buddy run to his rescue and told me to take it easy! They just wanted to see what Muay Thai technique was like!
I told them no! You just want to find every way to diss it and feed yourself false ego booster! And walked away.

2020.09.20 11:32 weeabloopie This is Seungwoo's World and we're all just living in it.

I finished watching Seungwoo's solo concert and I just wanted to share my thoughts and feeling on it! Long story short, I LOVED IT. Concert Report ahead.
Seungwoo mentioned that he wanted the concert to be like a talk show, so a talk show we got. A whole 1.5 hours of it. Great planning on PlayM's part as they spared nothing and hired Jaejae, one of Korea's hottest celebrities now, to MC. She was very supportive throughout the segment and Seungwoo looked to be super relaxed and happy. To be honest, your mileage may vary on this. Personally, I enjoyed listening to Seungwoo talk and learning more about him as a person, but 1.5 hours is pretty long for a ment especially for foreign fans who know little or no Korean. Really interested to see how the concert for the Thai fans go and if it will be in the same format. On another note, his outfit for the talk show section was this. I'm not sure if it was planned, but thank you whoever styled him.
While he went backstage to get ready for his performances we were blessed with a VCR of Seungwoo making potato pizza. Victon's resident potato and pizza lover, Seungsik was also invited to have a taste of Seungwoo's creation. Overall, a very cute VCR and good job to whoever did the editing!
Now, for THE PERFORMANCES. We got Seungwoo's full solo discography with some amazing ad libs and harmonies to spice things up. There were some prerecorded songs, but the ones performed live had live vocals and my god they were so stable he was not horsing around (pun fully intended).
Fever was a personal highlight for me. It was the first time he performed this song and the choreo was perfect in every sense (fun fact: Seungwoo mentioned he learned it in 5 days). There was a little hiccup during the performance but he handled it professionally and hit the most amazing high note straight after.
He also performed a 저별아. We heard a snippet of it during Howling era, but this is the first time we've seen Seungwoo sing it on stage. Not going to lie, I teared up a little. The lyrics were beautiful and reminded me of Light, my go to Victon sad song. I hope it gets released in an album/a digital single sometime in the future.
I'm an Alice from Time of Sorrow era and a OneIt who witnessed his multiple hiatuses so it was really meaningful to see Seungwoo shine on his solo stage. I'm really looking forward to more concerts and for Seungwoo to expand his discography!
Thank you Seungwoo for showing me such and amazing stage and to all who made it possible.
